This is classic example of beginners luck. My daughter found this side-notched point on her very first hunt at the tender age of eight less than five minutes into the field. I'm sure I was more excited than she was. Although it is a little beat up it is still a nice find, first time or any time. I believe it is an unusually large Simonson Point, a early variety of the side-notched style of point dating (according to Perino) around 6471 B.C.
