Over the years I have found numerous celts and examined hundreds of others but this is the only one I ever found made from quartz. Although it is not especially large, only about 5 1/4" long, it is well made which is quite an accomplishment for this material must have been a bear to work. I found it on an upland site south of Vandalia in Fayette County, IL.
